So you finally managed to setup your Virtual Pag-IBIG account. You can already check your existing regular contributions, and you have opened your first Pag-IBIG MP2 account. How then do you get to add fund to your Pag-IBIG MP2 account?
Currently, there are the following ways:
- HR Method
- Paying through E-Wallets
- Gcash
- PayMaya
- Online payment via Virtual Pag-IBIG
We’ll tackle them one by one below. 🙂
HR Method
You can get your human resources (HR) department to automatically deduct a portion of your monthly salary and add it to your MP2 account! Ask your HR colleagues if such an option is available, as it is quite convenient. There is no need to manually do it monthly. Also, you can track it from both your monthly payslip as well as via online, on Virtual Pag-IBIG.
If they don’t support this method, then it’s not a problem, as you have two equally convenient options below. 🙂
Paying through E-Wallets
You can add funds to your MP2 using your e-wallets! More and more Filipinos are getting accustomed to using e-wallets nowadays.
Gcash
Gcash has been offering the ability to add funds to MP2 accounts even before vPagIbig launched. To start, open your Gcash app, and follow the steps below:
- On the dashboard, tap on Pay Bills.
- Under Biller Categories, tap on Government.
- Under the list of billers, tap on Pag IBIG.
- Provide your Pag-IBIG MP2 account details:
- Type: Modified Pag-IBIG II Savings
- Account number
- Amount
- Period Covered From (in format yyyymm)
- Period Covered To (in format yyyymm) — you may choose to set the same date as the “From”.
- Email address
- Gcash will now ask for your confirmation to proceed with payment. Take note that proceeding with this transaction will charge your Gcash five pesos (PHP 5.00) on top of your nominated MP2 investment. Tap Confirm to continue.
- Success! Gcash will now confirm your payment, indicating the overall total amount deducted from your Gcash account. Don’t forget to save a copy of this transaction by tapping that “Download” icon on the top-right corner of the app. 🙂
PayMaya
As of the moment, adding funds using PayMaya bills payment is not available — unlike Gcash’s method above. However, using its Scan to Pay facility though is something you can use to pay through the Virtual Pag-IBIG option below. Continue to the next section for the details!
Online payment via Virtual Pag-IBIG
Paying for your various Pag-IBIG-related loans has never been easier ever since the launch of the Virtual Pag-IBIG (vPagIbig) last November 2019. It’s the same case for adding funds to MP2!
Once you are able to login to Virtual Pag-IBIG, access the left-pane menu and click on Pay OnLine, then click on MP2 Savings.
Provide your details to add fund to Pag-IBIG MP2
The main panel of the site then shows a form with a lot to fill in. Don’t get intimidated! There are a lot of fields but these are the only things you need to focus on:
- Choose your Membership Category (Local or Overseas).
- Payment Method: You have a choice between using your credit card or PayMaya.
- Provide your Modified Pag-IBIG II Savings Account Number, then click Verify. Doing so will auto-populate the rest of the fields based on your records!
- Under MP2 Savings (PHP), indicate the amount you wish to contribute. The Amount Due and Convenience Fee further below then automatically recomputes based on your input here.
- Next, choose the month and year under Period Covered From where this contribution is to be considered. The Period Covered To field automatically updates as well.
- (Optional, but recommended): Tick the checkbox(es) that will send confirmation of payment to your indicated SMS and email address. This is for your personal copy once confirmed.
- Provide the displayed code for validation.
- Tick on “I Agree with the Terms and Conditions” to proceed.
- Click Next.
Payment Method
As indicated in Step 2 above, Virtual Pag-IBIG offers you two ways to pay for your MP2 contributions: Credit card and PayMaya.
The convenience fee will depend on the payment method that you choose:
- Via PayMaya: Flat fee of five pesos (PHP 5.00)
- Via credit card: 1.75% of the amount to be contributed.
PayMaya Scan To Pay
If you choose to pay using PayMaya, just open your e-wallet and scan the QR code that displays on the page.
Credit Card Payment
On the other hand, if you chose the other option, you may choose between a credit or debit card to add fund to your Pag-IBIG MP2. If you do so, simply provide your name, card number and the CVV code, typically found at the back of your card.
Take note: Some banks are already implementing one-time passwords (OTP), which usually send a six-digit code via SMS to be able to proceed with the transaction. Check with your bank if they have already implemented this additional layer of security for your credit or debit card.
Payment Confirmation
Once the transaction completes, a confirmation will be shown to you, as well as via SMS and email (if you chose those options earlier). Congratulations! You have successfully added to your MP2 savings!
How soon does adding funds reflect on your MP2 Account?
Two (2) business days. I added funds to my MP2 account on a Monday. This was both via online payment and via e-wallet, just to try out an experiment. I checked my MP2 transaction history daily on Virtual Pag-IBIG. Two days later, it was already there in the history, reflecting both payments!
Conclusion
We tackled three main ways of adding funds to your Pag-IBIG MP2 account. The first involves your HR if they support adding to your MP2. This is the easiest, and it doesn’t cost you any extra charges. The second is via the use of e-wallets. This method costs you a flat fee of five pesos regardless of your contribution. The third option is via Virtual Pag-IBIG’s online payment gateway. Using credit or debit cards charge an additional 1.75% on top of your nominated investment.
Hopefully, regardless of the method you choose, you get to invest your hard-earned money regularly, so you can reap its benefits in due time! Happy investing!
Hi! It has been 3 business days since I paid thru Gcash but it does not reflect in my account yet.
Hi Elaine! Yes you are right. I also put in some for my MP2 both via Gcash and Virtual Pag-IBIG last week. I’m also checking how soon it will reflect. Maybe this is an effect of the current COVID-19 issue?
Hopefully it gets reflected soon. It’s been almost a week. Once it does though, I’ll update the article so everyone can have proper expectation especially during this period. 🙂
Hi i just applied now my mp2? Do i need to go pagibig branch to verify it? I already transfer also from gcash and its not reflected as well
Hi. I did the same. I called their support and asked the same question and they said no need because of the situation right now (pandemic) and told me that it will; take 5-7 working days before it reflect on our account. Luckily for me, it only took 2 days and my payment tru Virtual Pag-Ibig reflected, however, the payment I made tru Paymaya did not reflect so far.
Hello. I paid tru Paymaya and Virtual Pag-ibig on the same day, the amount I paid via Virtual Pag-ibig reflected while the one in Paymaya didn’t though it’s only bween two days since. There should be no problem naman po siguro no? Antay ko lang yung sa Paymaya?
Hi again! Mine’s already reflected as of this morning. Can you check if your contribution has also reflected in the MP2 list in vPagIbig? 😀
Hi, i made a payment last June 11. I’m still waiting for it to reflect in virtual Pag-ibig. I will update when my payment is posted.
Hello Babana! Yeah, please do!
May payment is now reflected.
My*
Nice! This is good to hear! So at least the others will also be aware. 😀
Hi! Made a payment on June 2 and June 9, still not reflecting.
Did your gcash payment reflected on your Mp2 account already?
Yes Oscar. Mine already has. The last one I made was last 1 June and it was already there when I last checked last week. 🙂
Hi Oliver. I made an MP2 contribution last 1 June and it’s already reflected when I last checked (last Friday, 12th). Maybe your contributions should have already reflected by now too?
hello sir ronx and sa lahat, anong mas mabilis sa inyo mag post?, gcash or paymaya/paymaya enterprise. thanks
Pareho lang naman. Mapo-post naman sila halos sabay din.
which would you prefer mga boss, paymaya or gcash? based on your experienced.
Flat rate si Gcash, ₱5 lang regardless of amount, so mas ok sya kung lagpas ₱500 yung ireremit mo. Sa PayMaya kasi %-based so mas malaki yung surcharge.
Hi!
Hi Grace. Yes you can contribute to your MP2 via Gcash. Just take note of the MP2 account number so you can transact it there.
Hi! I’m an OFW. I made an online payment in June 30 but until now not reflected sa MP2 account ko. Have several follow ups din sa Pag-ibig , iche-check/iendorse daw pero no positive outcome until now.
Hi Jonatz. Did you mean June 30 o July 30?
Hi. If your going to pay one time through gcash, like 12 mos, what will you put in the amount? Is it your monthly savings or the total amount for the 12 mos? Thanks a lot.
Hi Lenette! It’s actually up to you. You may choose to do a “one-time big-time” contribution, putting 12 months’ worth of contribution in one Gcash payment. Benefit in this case is you only get charged ₱5 fee once, and of course you wouldn’t have to think about additional contributions monthly for the succeeding months! 😀
Yeah. But, what do you put in the amount tab? is it your monthly savings or the total for 12 mos?
You can put the total amount there. 🙂
how about the period covered sir?
Hi mam! I’m planning to pay a one time big time contribution of 300K and just add if i have extra. May i ask for the best way to pay that wont charge me a large amount for the 300k, pls? Thank u very much and looking forward to your response.
Hi Kate! Apparently they also accept over-the-counter contribution in Pag-IBIG branches and they won’t charge a fee for it. 🙂 However, we’re still in MECQ so I think branches are still closed. At this point, the Gcash is still the cheapest if going online.
For more information, please do reach out to them so when they reopen you can already transact. 🙂
Thank you! I was looking for options sa payment ng MPII. Not a fan of HR method kasi minsan late sila magremit, lalo na if housing loan payment ang ipade-deduct. So perfect ang GCash. Apprehensive lang ako nung una because of negative feedbacks, but I’ve tried payments using the app, ok naman pala so long as ibabayad mo agad.
Yeah I’ve heard about it too. Best to not leave a lot of money in e-wallets unless gamitin mo agad. 😀
Hi good day sir. Question po, i made a virtual pagibig account online using my loyatly card and after that i applied for MP2 savings po, when i got my application form according to the instructions i need to go to a pagibig branch but since i don’t feel safe going out i tried to contact the customer service to inquire, sabi po nila once i receive the account number, yung nasa application form i can transfer money na po there, so i did that and it’s been 3 days na po but it doesn’t seem to reflect on my virtual pagibig account it says “No MP2 savings record found” my question po is it because there’s a pandemic kaya medyo matagal pumasok yung pera or the way i opened my account? Kasi po hindi ako pumunta sa branch maybe it’s still not active po? Thank you po in advance, god bless.
Hi Gem. I think the best option is to contact Pag-IBIG directly so they can help you with your newly-opened MP2 account. I think a friend was able to open her own MP2 online after setting up vPagIbig, so you should be able to also setup yours as well.
Hi, Would like to know if you have idea if there’s a way to check the current status or history of my MP2 savings?
Hello aexasnts! The history of your contributions for Pag-IBIG MP2 can be viewed via their Virtual Pag-IBIG platform. If you haven’t yet, you might want to sign up so you can view them real-time, among other features! 🙂
But if I understand it correctly, still need to activate this in Pag-ibig branch isn’t?
No need. Once you get a Loyalty Card Plus, you’re also provided a PIN mailer (to access in ATMs).
A friend also signed up for a vPagIbig account without needing to get a Loyalty Card Plus. So if you’re just after tracking your MP2, you might want to go this route (esp if it’s not really pressing to have to go out these days, just for the LC+).
No, you don’t have to, according to the Pagibig rep I talked to. It’s because of the pandemic. You’ll have to wait for at least 5-7 working days daw.
is it possible to change the monthly payment amount? for example…for the 1st yr, 500, and for the next 4 yrs is 2000?
Hi Emma. I also asked this of our HR and it seems that once you’ve set the amount, you can’t change it anymore for that MP2 account.
I’m saying “for that MP2 account” because you can open another MP2 account and nominate another fixed monthly amount to be credited there. But same rules — once you set it, you can’t change it again.
This is the same reason why I add contribution using the e-wallet method, because I also thought before that I could later increase the amount our HR credits to the MP2! 😂
Hi this is only if payment thru your HR; what if directly payment thru GCASH? What if I paid P1k for first 2 months and wanted to pay P5k this month then back to P1k?
Hi Michelle. If you choose to pay via Gcash, there wouldn’t be any issue if you paid 1K for two months, then paid 5K the third month, and then back to 1K on the fourth month. It’s entirely up to you. That’s the nice thing about paying via e-wallets because you can always pay the amount you want to contribute for that month.
Hello, I just opened an MP2 account. Can I start paying thru gcash already or do I need to visit a branch first? Thank you!
Hi Allan! You should be able to contribute for your MP2 already. 🙂
Hello, I tried paying by credit card (Issued here in UAE) – payment failed. Tried with my debit card, ganun din. Any one has similar experienced?
Na receive ko naman un OTP and I entered it correctly (I actually tried a number of times) pero all attempts were declined. No answer from PAGIBIG chat box 🙁
I experienced the same thing. Tried twice using my card- both failed. Were you able to find out how to resolve it?
Also facing the same issue, after entering the OTP it just gives the payment failed screen. I tried with credit and debit cards and the same error appears. I tried with Visa as well as Master card with the same error message. This issue seems to have started since the Month of November onwards. I was able to make online payments in October. I have sent an email to Pagibig on this matter, hope this gets resolved soon. Any body else have a feedback from Pagibig on this issue?
Hi jerson! Oo pwedeng-pwede. Yan ang ginagawa ko eh!
Ridiculous. 3 DAYS?! Still using empty can of “LIGO” as TIN CAN Telephone in transmitting? ( and others says Covid19, so internet gets disease infected as well).
Stocks doesnt even take that long-3 days.
Hi Ricky! To be fair to them, the processing time seems to be getting better lately. My latest MP2 contribution last week got reflected the following day. Hope that helps! 🙂
Hello, Tanong ko lang po if panu magcontribute sa mp2 via gcash ng one time investment. my 50k kasi ako at balak ko na iinvest as lump sum for the whole year of 2021(next year). ano po ilalagay ko sa period covered from and to?
Hello, Can I deposit twice or thrice within a month on my Mp2 savings? Let say deposited Dec. 3 (1000 pesos) and Dec. 8 (500)? will they accept my 500 pesos? or will credit this for January already? thanks
Yup they’ll be credited in the same month, no problem!
Question, pag may virtual pag-ibig kana automatic ba na mag rereflect yung MP2 savings account mo dun kahit wala pang laman?
nauna kasi magawa yung mp2 account ko before the virtual pag-ibig account which is just activated now. note also na mali yung email address na nakaindicate sa mp2 ko.
Thank you in advance
Hi,
Can I deposit via Gcash even tho our HR remittance is still ongoing? Or it’s best if I create another account for Gcash deposits? Thank you!
Francis yup! I do this myself regularly to add on top of the amount I nominated to our HR.
Hi what should i put on gcash my mid or my mp2 account or its okay kahit anu po diyan?
Hi Evander. It’s the MP2 account number. 🙂
hi help ? Thank you.
Tsaka may limit ba sa pag top up? Thanks sa sasagot
Hi Cir, hindi naman namomove yung maturity. Also, wala po limit sa topup. 🙂
Hi! If I will pay/remit 5 times within 1 month, will that be considered a lumpsump?
Hi, is MP2 accepting payment thru Grab pay? Included kasi sa Billpayment po ni Grab. Thank you 🙂
Not sure po kung pwede ang GrabPay…
Pareho lang sa from / to.
Hello Sir, great article.
Im gonna pay mine via gcash tomorrow.
I have a question on the account number needed.
Is it the PagIBig MID number or the MP2 account number?
Thank you.
Hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks Angela! 🙂
For your question, it’s the MP2 account number you’ll need. This is because it’s possible a person may have more than one MP2 account.:-)
Do we need to go to PAG-IBIG branch and have to submit a hardcopy of application form?
I registered in MP2 enrollment online and generated a PDF file containing my details and MP2 account number. When I tried to add funds on MP2 via virtual PAG-IBIG, it says invalid account number as recipient.
Thanks in advance.
Hello. Just wanted to share my very first online payment experience. I contributed in my Mp2 through Paymaya last March 11 in the afternoon and it got reflected this morning, March 13.
how many times can I contribute in my MP2 account in a month?
Hello Elenor! As many times as you want.
Thank you very much po!
Can I add different amounts if I have extra money? for example 1000, then 2000, then 3000 within the same month ?same lang po ba ilalagay sa period covered from and to
I tried this one too before, wala naman kaso. Yung period covered from/to ganun din, walang kaso… Pero dahil savings to, I don’t think it matters aling period covered sya. 🙂
Will it work if your MP2 account will have 2 fund sources (e.g. salary deduction and the other if you have extra savings for the month?) or funding is strictly 1:1 (1 MP2 account is to 1 type of funding).
Hi Chi! Yes, it will. You have the freedom to choose how you fund it and how often. 🙂
Good day! I am a new member in PAG-IBIG MP2 and may mga tanong po sana ako. Pwede po kaya yung maghulog ulit ako for a specific period kahit na nung nagbayad ako, may nailagay na akong months covered?
For example po, naghulog ako at ang nilagay kong covered period is Sept 2021 to Dec 2021. Pwede pa po ba akong maghulog in between those months?
Looking forward for a response po. Thank you so much!
Question po, Hindi po kasi ako nakapagbayad for the month of July, August and September. Iwannt to pay po sana using GCash Can I pay for the 3 months o b ng sabay sabay or mas maganda po na hiwa hiawalay? Nakita ko kasi na may from and to sa Gcash I was thinking kung huhullog ako ng 3k from July to September mag oauto na po ba yun na 1k per month?
Starting to invest again on MP2. Instead of checking out on 11/11, I decided to invest instead. I’ve made my payment via GCASH and it says it would reflect in three (3) working days. I’ll keep you posted once it’s reflected. Happy investing! 😍
