Virtual Pag-IBIG, the online portal of the Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF), has been launched this 12th of December 2019 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Manila. The launch happened in time for Pag-IBIG’s 39th anniversary with the theme “Serving the Nation with Excellence and Innovation” — quite an apt description for the new system!

The system has been in beta since October 2019. With this December launch, it reaches version 1.0, signifying that it is now stable for use by the general public on browsers for both desktop and mobile devices.

The launch event was a well-attended one, with members of the media covering it and with head honchos from Asia United Bank (AUB), Unionbank, Pilipinas Teleserv, and PayMaya gracing the event. Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Acmad Rizaldy Moti and Housing Settlements and Urban Development (HSUD) Secretary Eduardo Del Rosario kicked off the event with their opening remarks and keynote speeches.

CEO Moti performed a demo of the Virtual Pag-IBIG platform onstage to show its features and capabilities. With the launch, he said, any Pag-IBIG member may choose from any three ways to access “vPagIbig“:

  1. By opening an account online and activating it by visiting a Pag-IBIG branch;
  2. By using an existing Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card Plus to access Virtual Pag-IBIG; and,
  3. For Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), a special account activation process.

Moti also highlighted Pag-IBIG’s partnership with two of the leading Philippine universal banks, AUB and Unionbank, to provide access to members for its new Loyalty Card Plus. Likewise, he acknowledged PayMaya for its support to enable online payment for loans as well as MP2 savings within the platform.

In cooperation with Pilipinas Teleserv, Virtual Pag-IBIG also enables a 24/7 chat support, ready to assist Pag-IBIG members with queries on a real-time basis. An example, Moti mentioned, would be to look for the nearest Pag-IBIG branches near your location. A customer support representative will be ready to provide answers to your queries.

To close the program, CEO Moti with Secretary Del Rosario led the countdown to officially launch version 1.0 of Virtual Pag-IBIG.
